Tag Rugby Competition

1st May 2017
Our tag rugby team travelled to Josephine Butler campus in Ashington to compete in the Level 2 School Games Competition.  We were one of 10 teams playing from 7 different school in the Ashington and Coquet area.

Our first match was against Grange View where we won thanks to a last minute try from Nancy.  We then faced the Bothal Bulls who beat us 1-0.  Next we played the NCEA Crocodiles where we won thanks to two tries from Noah, and one from Matias, with Sian an Harry doing some fantastic tagging.

Oliver and Matias each score a try in a next match against Central, and with help from Isobel's fast tagging, managed to win this game.

Red Row were our next opponents and we managed a draw of two tries each, ours were scored by Oliver and Harry who were helped by Theo who did some great tagging throughout the game.  After a little break we then faced Broomhill which resulted in another draw of 2-2, with our tries being score by Noah.

The next game turned out to be our best scoring game and was against Bothal Bears.  We won 6-1 with Noah scoring 4 tries, and Conn scoring two.

Lana showed some great tagging skills in out next game against Ellington but unfortunately we were unable to score, which resulted in us losing 2-0.

Our last game saw us facing NCEA Alligators, and with Conn and Noah each scoring a try we secured another win of 2-0.

The teams all gathered to hear the results, we knew we'd done well, but also knew the other teams had played really well.  We were thrilled to hear we had finished in second place overall.

Well done, and good luck, to Ellington who won overall, and move forward to represent our area at the School Games in June.
