Children In Need - A HUGE THANK YOU

13th November 2015
Children In Need 2015 was a huge success and a massive thank you goes out to everyone who supported this worthwhile charity. Your generosity was outstanding and brought a tear to a few eyes!
The children took the lead this year and each class representative from the School Council facilitated a discussion about the type of fundraising events the children would like to be involved in. Ideas ranged from the impossible to the outrageous and each event was decided by vote.
Last week saw all of these evenets taking place, Rowan and Acorns completed a Treasure Hunt sheet at home, Year 1's completed a sponsored Scooter Event, Year 2 Chose to get wet in a Water Battle, Year 3 baked buns and cakes and sold them to the rest of the school and Year 4 endured the fog to complete a Sponsored Sports Marathon.
All these achievements were celebrated in a wonderful Assembly on Friday morning where the children 'came as they pleased'. Everything from pyjamas, super hereos, disco clothes and princess dresses were worn creating a colourful audience and the parents joined us too. The School Council led the celebrations which each class sharing their experiences. Musical interludes were provided by the Year 4's with their amazing rendition of Mamma Mia, Rowan and Acorns sang the Pudsey Bear song and we were treated to the guitar group sharing their own Pudsey song. Each class had an envelope to open revealing their own fundraising amount. By the end of the morning we had raised an amazing £685.45.
The fun continued through the day with Mrs Dixon's delicious spotty cake for lunch and a movie afternoon with popcorn and juice. We also sold Pudsey Bear Bands and the talented Mrs Fizzel knitted some fantastic Pudsey Bear Badges.
By the end of the day, all the donations were counted and a final total of £853.45 . A staggering amount of money for so few children and families and something we should all be very proud of. Thank you again - you've been amazing!
