Consultation to join Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust

10th June 2019:  Consultation to join Northumberland Church of England Academy

Our Governing Body have been considering options to ensure the very best for our children going forwards. Our priorities will always be to enable our school to continue to provide an excellent education for our children while protecting the school’s role at the heart of the community and retaining our unique qualities and Christian vision. Following various investigations and discussions, the Governing Body and Head Teacher believe the best way of maintaining standards into the future is for our school to join the Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust. This Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust within Northumberland which works closely with the Diocese of Newcastle and already contains Church of England schools.
We would now like to discuss this proposal with our parents, staff and community to ensure all views are taken into account before a decision is taken by governors on the way forward. We are therefore enclosing some further information on this proposal (in the form of a question and answer document) along with a feedback form which we would request that you complete and return to us.
The information document explains why we are considering this option now, and also includes some detail about what this would mean for your children, our staff, the community and the management of the school.
What’s the next step? We understand as parents/carers you may want to find out more and you may have some further questions arising from the information enclosed. We also want and value your feedback and whilst we always have an open-door policy, we would like to invite you to book an appointment to come and see Professor Hobrough and I on the 14th June between 9- 5.30 pm. A further consultation session will also be available on the 4th of July from 5pm and as well as myself and Professor Hobrough (Chair of Governors), Alan Hardie the CEO of NCEAT and diocesan representatives will also be available to answer questions. If you do wish to arrange a meeting for the 14th June please complete the slip below or if you wish to come to the meeting on the 4th of July please could you also return the slip below so we have a feel for numbers.
