Red Nose Day -What a success!

16th March 2015

What an amazing success this year's Red Nose Day was! A huge, huge thank you to everyone who baked, stitched, carved, potted, weaved, moulded and painted for us!

Our day started with a wave of red, with every child taking in part in the non uniform part of the day. The School Council did an amazing job of telling everyone why we should be raising money and the things our money may be spent on.

Each class completed at least one Red Nose themed lesson, allowing them a further insight into the lives of children in Africa and just how money raised by Comic Relief is giving these children a brighter future.

The big biscuit competition winners were revealed at lunchtime as well as the most delicious biscuits baked by Mrs Dixon. Well done to Sarah and Ava who were our winners!

Before the Crafty afternoon even started we had raised £120 from selling noses, £8 from entering the biscuit competition and £45 from donations for not wearing school uniform.

The array of goods and the talents of our families was staggering. From cakes to paintings, photographs to potted plants, woodwork to pottery and so much more; the tables were laden.

After a rousing chorus of our Red Nose Day song, the children joined their families and the selling began. By the end of the afternoon we were literally left with 4 pencils and six cupcakes!

Our final total was an amazing £578! Thank you so muc again for your help and generosity.
