We had another great trip to the Forest School Site. The weather was fantastic!
We found the sign on the way near the farm. The challenge was to see if anyone could read it!
We found the mud near the farm again...which we love to have a play in.
The mud was so sticky somebody's boot came off in it!
We had great fun exploring our favourite places in the forest.
We practised our tree climbing skills!
We toasted hot-cross buns on the fire.
We thought about why people eat hot-cross buns at Easter time.
We had hot chocolate too.
The hot-cross buns were yummy.
Even the adults enjoyed toasting them too.
We walked right round the forest site and went down to the pond.
We stayed away from the waters edge so we kept ourselves safe.
We saw deer tracks on our way round the forest. We found their tracks in the mud.
We worked together in little groups to create Easter Gardens.
We thought carefully about what to use.
We used different flowers - daisies, dandelions and celandines.
We used wood chips, moss, stones, fircones and sticks.
We told our friends all about our creations.
We were really pleased with our gardens.
We talked about the different parts of the Easter story.
Then we heard about the Easter Bunny in the forest. He had left a flower trail for us to follow!
At the end of the flower trail we found a letter....it was from the Easter Bunny! we read it carefully.
The Easter Bunny had set us a challenge. We had to follow a number trail through the forest.
When we found a number we had to do a challenge or solve a number problem.
We worked together as a team.
At the end the last challenge was to create an Easter nest in a quiet place.
The Easter Bunny said that he might leave us a surprise if he came back.
After a lovely packed lunch at the fire-pit we went back to see if the Easter Bunny had left anything in our nest.
And look....he had! It was full of shiny Easter Eggs!
We had one each...and there were still plenty left to take back to school for later!
