Autumn 2 - The Christian Value of Forgiveness

This half term we have been thinking about the Christian Value of Forgiveness. We had a whole school Friendship afternoon and in the Early Years we explored Friendship through lots of different fun activities. Some of our parents came along too.

We reflected upon the Christian value of Forgiveness through a Prayer Space Activity      "Fizzy Forgiveness". The children were encouraged to forgive and let go of hurt and anger.

Time to reflect...                                                                                Sometimes we get hurt. Sometimes people do and say things to hurt us on purpose.      Sometimes they don’t mean it, but it hurts anyway.                                          Holding onto hurts isn’t good for us. Has someone hurt you?                                  Forgiveness is hard, it’s about letting go. If you want to… pick up a tablet and think about those hurt feelings. When you are ready, drop it into the water.

As you watch the tablet dissolve imagine forgiving the person who has upset you and the hurt disappearing.

Feel the pain, hurt and anger melting away.
